USCG Master 100-Ton · Sailing Endorsement · Florida
Florida native Captain Andy Deen founded Time and Tide Captain Services in 2021 to share his lifelong passion for boating through personalized, hands-on instruction. With thousands of hours on the water and a two-time Instructor of the Year track record, Capt. Andy brings real-world experience to every lesson — and to this simulator.
Captain Andy's whole objective is to "work himself out of a job" — helping you feel confident enough to handle your vessel independently. He's as passionate about teaching as he is about boating, and that philosophy is woven into every module of this simulator.
After years of delivering bespoke on-the-water instruction, captained charters, and yacht deliveries aboard vessels from 32 to 50 feet, Capt. Andy recognized that students needed more time with the radar before stepping on board. This simulator brings his curriculum online — so you can practice relative motion, CPA/TCPA, and COLREGS Rule 19 decisions as many times as you need, at your own pace, in any browser.
There's no "one-size-fits-all" mentality here. Whether you're pursuing your ASA 120 Radar Endorsement or just want to be a safer navigator, the training adapts to your goals — just like Capt. Andy's on-the-water courses.
"I built this simulator so my students — and mariners everywhere — could practice radar navigation and collision avoidance before they ever need it for real. The radar scope is the most powerful tool on your boat, and knowing how to read it confidently can save your life. Take your time, work through the modules, and don't be afraid to make mistakes here — that's what the simulator is for. I'll see you on the water."
